Summer Refresh in Gargellen

GARGELLEN is located in one of the prettiest high valleys to be found between Switzerland and Tyrol. The distinctive head of the valley highlights the Madrisa Mountain, after which the hotel has been named. The Suggadin River flows through the valley separating the majestic mountain ranges of the Rhatikon to the west and the Silvretta to the east, and extends up to the Schlappiner Joch on the border to Switzerland.
For vehicles, Gargellen means the end of the line, after which there is only nature as far as the eye can see. Featured excursions for long hikes in the surrounding area of Madrisa are the well known Swiss spa resort town of Klosters and the contrasting original Walser community, St Antönien.
Gargellen also offers a large variety of sports possibilities and is completely oriented towards its individual guests and families.

The Hotel Madrisa is one of the richest in its tradition of all the alpine hotels in Vorarlberg.

Until the mid 1920’s, the Hotel Madrisa was a summer hotel. Later, with the development of alpine ski sports, it became a well loved meeting place for skiers from all over the world.
The art nouveau wing that underwent interior renovation in the 1990’s commemorates the hotel architecture of the turn of the century and is a landmark of Gargellen.
In 1980, the hotel advanced into the four star category with the building of the southern aligned wing, creating a total of 115 beds in the hotel.

Our kitchen is supplied with first class products by means of our organically-biologically principled farming enterprise and we feel we contribute our share to the very important preservation of a well tended and intact alpine landscape.
